TFS - global hanger management - Code of conduct

This code of conduct is based on the values of the company. Its purpose is to ensure that all personnel and managers of the TFS Group live and act according to the values and guidelines therein. The TFS code of conduct cannot cover every topic in detail, but it should convey a fundamental and unambiguous understanding of the conduct that we expect from all of our personnel and at all locations.

The company communicates the code of conduct and its implementation to employees, business partners and other interested parties, e.g. by publishing it on the company website. TFS is prepared to discuss the contents of the code of conduct. Trade secrets and business information of third parties will be handled sensitively and confidentially.

Adherence to the law

All business activities of the TFS Group must comply with all applicable national and international legal requirements. Furthermore, the TFS Group is obligated to observe all applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and regulations.

Prohibition of discrimination and harassment

The TFS Group will not permit or commit any discriminating acts whatsoever. Discrimination refers to any kind of distinction, exclusion or preference that restricts equal treatment or opportunity to access work and employment, and which is potentially due to race, gender, religion, political stance, age, national, social or ethnic background, family obligations or similar considerations. Furthermore, the TFS Group is committed to employment free of any harassment and chicanery. The right to freedom of opinion and free speech is protected and guaranteed.

Remuneration and benefits

The company guarantees that no wages shall be paid below the statutory minimum wage. The remuneration paid to personnel must adhere to all applicable laws concerning wages and salaries, including the regulations on minimum salary, overtime and statutory benefits.

Working hours

The TFS Group ensures adherence to applicable legal working time restrictions. The maximum permitted working hours per week are regulated by national laws and comply with the conventions of international labour organizations. Overtime restrictions are regulated in accordance with regional legal and/or contractual obligations. Personnel shall have at least one day off per calendar week, excluding exceptional circumstances and for a limited time only. Management shall guarantee sufficient breaks to protect the health and safety of personnel.

Prohibition of child labour

The TFS Group shall not tolerate the employment of children under 15-years-old, unless this is permitted through legislation, but certainly not the employment of children under 14-years-old. If applicable legislation prescribes a higher minimum working age or the legal age for compulsory education is no longer 15, this age limit shall be deemed valid. This restriction does not apply to general education or training programmes that are attended by children in schools or other institutions. All young personnel must be protected against conducting any forms of work that could be considered dangerous or that impede the education of the child, or even endanger his/her health or physical, psychological, social, mental or moral development.

Prohibition of forced labour

The TFS Group does not tolerate forced or compulsory labour, which refers to any work or service that is performed under threat of penalty or on a non-voluntary basis. It is also prohibited to retain personal identification documents of employees upon entering employment.

Freedom of assembly

The TFS Group acknowledges and respects the right of the employee to freedom of assembly, as well as their right to select a representative freely and independently, and guarantees that this representative will not be subjected to any form of discrimination.

Occupational health and safety

The company ensures that the workplace and surroundings (machinery, equipment and operations, chemical substances, etc.) shall endanger neither the physical integrity nor the health of employees. Regular optimization programmes aim to enforce suitable measures to prevent the risk of accidents and to improve working conditions. Employees must have guaranteed access to drinking water, sanitary facilities and social areas that have been established in accordance with the applicable legislation and are subject to continuous maintenance. The workplace and surroundings must have suitable emergency exits, fire protection systems and sufficient lighting. Adequate protection for non-smokers must also be guaranteed.

Environment and sustainability

The company adheres to the environmental protection regulations that apply to operations at each location. The company is committed to environmentally-friendly practices at all locations. Procedures and standards for waste treatment, handling and disposing of chemical and other hazardous materials, emissions and wastewater treatment must meet or exceed the minimum legal requirements. The TFS Group acknowledges that all raw materials are in limited supply and that it therefore has a responsibility to future generations. Based on the three elements of ecology, economy and social responsibility, the company ensures that its products and manufacturing processes are consistent with “sustainable development”.

Anti-Bribery Principle

TFS prohibits bribery. TFS employees and any third party to whom this Principle applies, must not provide, offer or accept bribes, kickbacks, corrupt payments, facilitation payments, or inappropriate gifts, to or from Government Officials or any commercial person or entity, regardless of local practices or customs. All TFS employees and any third party acting on TFS's behalf must comply with all applicable anti-bribery laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, the U.K. Bribery Act (UKBA).
